AI/ML Backend Engineer (Junior to Mid-Level)

About the role

We are seeking an AI/ML Backend Engineer to help build the foundation of an AI‑powered product from the ground up. This hands‑on role spans model fine‑tuning, backend development, data pipelines, APIs and MLOps, turning early experiments into a reliable, scalable service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, clean and structure datasets for model training and evaluation.
• Fine‑tune AI models using Unsloth and modern techniques such as LoRA, QLoRA and PEFT.
• Design, implement and maintain ML pipelines for training, testing, deployment and monitoring.
• Develop backend services with Python and FastAPI, including secure, well‑documented APIs.
• Design and manage databases required for the core product.
• Deploy and maintain models in production, applying MLOps practices like experiment tracking, versioning and monitoring.
• Collaborate daily with the Product Manager and data team, participating in stand‑ups, sprint planning and product discussions.

Required profile

• 1–4 years of experience in AI/ML engineering, backend development or related roles.
• Strong practical knowledge of Unsloth for efficient model fine‑tuning.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience working in an early‑stage product environment.
