About the role
The Demi Chef De Partie will join the culinary team at Le Méridien, Cairo International Airport, delivering high‑quality food preparation and cooking in a fast‑paced hotel environment. This full‑time, on‑site position supports the kitchen’s daily operations and ensures consistent guest satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, and measuring according to recipes.
- Cook and assemble dishes, both hot and cold, while adhering to quality, presentation, and food‑preparation checklists.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely and efficiently.
- Test food for proper doneness, monitor quality, and adjust as needed.
- Set up and break down work stations, serve food in correct portions, and maintain a clean, sanitized kitchen area.
- Check and record appliance and food temperatures, and follow all safety, security, and hygiene policies.
- Communicate professionally with team members, support collaborative goals, and uphold confidentiality of proprietary information.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant culinary or kitchen experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
Required skills
- Food preparation and portion control.
- Operation of ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
- Basic food safety and hygiene practices.
