Specialist Inventory Controller - Local Shops

About the role

We are looking for a Specialist Inventory Controller to join talabat’s Local Shops team. The role focuses on improving catalog accuracy, product availability and assortment visibility across all stores, ensuring that the on‑ground inventory matches what is shown in the app.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor product availability and out‑of‑stock performance across all branches on a daily basis.
• Ensure that every item available in stores is correctly displayed in the application, including scanned items reflected in the catalogue and uploaded via SFTP.
• Identify and resolve catalogue issues such as missing items, incorrect mapping, barcode problems, SKU mismatches and other content errors.
• Analyse data to pinpoint top out‑of‑stock items, recurring catalogue problems and key availability gaps.
• Review branch‑level feedback and validate that catalogue updates align with actual branch assortment.
• Communicate product and catalogue issues to vendors and follow up until resolution.
• Coordinate with district managers to cascade tasks to branches and ensure proper execution and daily follow‑up.
• Collaborate closely with scanning, operations, vendor and account‑management teams to address catalogue and availability challenges.
• Prepare regular reports on availability, out‑of‑stock trends and catalogue performance.
• Escalate recurring issues with root‑cause analysis, insights and action plans.
• Maintain strong follow‑up on open tasks and ensure timely closure with all stakeholders.

Required profile

• 2–4+ years of experience in inventory control, catalogue operations or related fields.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, gaps and opportunities from data.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with senior stakeholders.
• Leadership and ownership mindset, able to drive execution across teams.
• Detail‑oriented, organized and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
