SysOps/SRE Lead – Global R&D Infrastructure

About the role

The SysOps/SRE Lead is responsible for the reliability, scalability and operational health of Valeo's worldwide R&D infrastructure. You will bridge development and operations, defining engineering practices and leading a global SRE team to ensure the toolchain remains resilient under pressure.

Key responsibilities

• Define and manage on‑call schedules and rotations to provide sustainable global coverage.
• Act as the primary escalation point for critical production incidents and lead blameless post‑mortems.
• Implement and maintain system health monitoring, error budgets and proactive alerting.
• Produce high‑quality documentation, runbooks and best‑practice guides.
• Translate business requirements into technical road‑maps and drive Program Increment infrastructure planning.
• Balance reactive toil with engineering improvements, ensuring at least 50 % of capacity is dedicated to proactive work.
• Define and enforce standards for cloud security, patching and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) readiness.
• Design secure, multi‑region AWS environments focused on high availability and cost optimisation.
• Standardise the observability stack (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) to move from basic alerts to proactive monitoring.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading SRE or SysOps teams in a global, multi‑cloud environment.
• Strong background in incident management, on‑call rotation design and blameless post‑mortem processes.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical road‑maps and align teams with organisational milestones.
• Excellent documentation skills and a focus on operational excellence.
