Accounts Payable Section Head

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Section Head to lead our AP function. The role involves overseeing the full AP cycle, ensuring timely and accurate payments, and supporting month‑end and year‑end closing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the end‑to‑end accounts payable process, from invoice receipt and verification to coding and payment execution.
• Oversee three‑way matching of purchase orders, goods receipts and supplier invoices to guarantee accuracy before authorisation.
• Manage weekly and monthly payment runs, including bank transfers, cheques and electronic payments, in line with payment terms and cash‑flow plans.
• Monitor accounts payable aging reports and ensure liabilities are settled within agreed credit terms.
• Review and approve journal entries, accruals and pre‑payments related to payables during month‑end and year‑end closing.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience leading and managing an accounts payable team.
• Strong knowledge of AP processes, three‑way matching and payment execution.
• Ability to monitor aging reports and enforce credit‑term compliance.
• Experience with month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including journal entry review.
