Cook (Hotel Kitchen)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Cook to join the kitchen team at Le Méridien, located within Cairo International Airport. The role involves preparing a wide range of dishes in a fast‑paced hotel environment, ensuring high standards of quality, presentation and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing and measuring according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble hot and cold dishes, following quality and presentation standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely and efficiently.
• Monitor food temperatures, test doneness and maintain food safety standards.
• Set up and break down work stations, clean and disinfect kitchen areas, tools and equipment.
• Serve food in proper portions and ensure proper storage of leftovers.
• Follow company safety, security and hygiene policies and report any issues to the manager.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a commercial kitchen or hotel food‑and‑beverage operation.
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift objects up to 25 lb.
• Professional appearance and ability to communicate clearly with team members.
