Director of Hotel Technology

About the role

The Director of Hotel Technology leads the technology function for a large hotel or a portfolio of hotels sharing infrastructure. Reporting to regional IR leadership, the role combines property systems management with revenue‑generating technology services for guests, ensuring alignment with the property’s business and customer base.

Key responsibilities

• Act as on‑site project manager for new system implementations and upgrades, developing project plans, schedules and resource allocations.
• Assess technology needs, prioritize initiatives, and ensure compliance with budget, Marriott policies and the Information Security Manual.
• Coordinate multi‑vendor projects, verify contract compliance, and produce detailed status reports.
• Evaluate asset life‑cycles, certify software applications, and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Ensure technology assets (PCs, servers, networking equipment) are secure, documented and maintained according to standards.
• Provide second‑level support, troubleshoot performance issues, and mentor junior technical staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5‑7 years of experience in a similar technology leadership role within hospitality.
• Previous management experience with demonstrated matrix‑management skills.
• Professional certifications in system administration or networking preferred.
