Emergency Response Superintendent

About the role

The Emergency Response Superintendent leads site‑wide emergency preparedness and response for Sukari’s open‑pit and underground gold mining operations. Based on‑site in Marsa Alam, the role acts as Incident Commander during major events, ensuring the safety of personnel, protection of assets, and compliance with Egyptian Civil Defence regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Direct on‑scene emergency response as Incident Commander, coordinating rapid mobilisation, resource deployment and site stabilisation.
• Maintain 24/7 on‑call availability to activate emergency plans at any time.
• Develop, update and govern emergency response plans, drill programmes and crisis simulations aligned to surface and underground risk registers.
• Ensure fire detection, alarm, suppression systems and emergency fleets (vehicles, SCBA gear, rescue equipment) are fully operational and compliant.
• Lead engagement with Egyptian Civil Defence, manage audits, and prepare evidence packs for authority and insurance inspections.
• Conduct root‑cause investigations of incidents and ensure adherence to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.

Required profile

• Proven leadership in emergency response within a mining or heavy‑industry environment.
• Ability to operate under pressure, make decisive decisions and coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Willingness to be on‑call 24/7 and travel across the site as needed.
• Strong understanding of Egyptian civil‑defence requirements and international safety standards.
