General Accountant – AR/AP Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a General Accountant to manage and oversee our daily Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) processes. The role ensures accurate financial reporting, timely reconciliations, and compliance with accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily AR and AP activities, including invoice processing and payment monitoring.
• Perform reconciliations between invoices and payments, investigate discrepancies, and issue credit notes as needed.
• Reconcile customer balances with sales, inventory, and intercompany transactions.
• Prepare customer statements, aging reports, and AR trial balances.
• Monitor returned payments, process write‑offs, and support month‑end closing.
• Verify supplier invoices, resolve discrepancies, and manage vendor payments via transfers, checks, and other methods.
• Reconcile vendor accounts, detect duplicate payments, and maintain AP records.
• Handle employee expense claims, petty cash, and advance settlements.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year‑end closing activities and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and tax regulations.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve accounting issues.
• Prepare financial schedules, reconciliations, and documentation for management and auditors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in General Accounting, AR, or AP.
• Strong experience with month‑end closing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Proven ability to handle high‑volume transactions and multiple entities.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
