General Accountant

About the role

The General Accountant joins the finance team to ensure accurate financial records, compliance with policies, and support for the organization’s financial health. This position handles day‑to‑day accounting operations, vendor and customer invoicing, and assists with month‑end and year‑end reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily accounting transactions, including journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Prepare and process customer claims and invoices, ensuring all supporting documentation is complete.
• Manage the full vendor invoicing cycle from receipt and verification to payment processing, securing necessary approvals.
• Prepare detailed vendor payment reports and record corresponding entries in the accounting system.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly and yearly closing reports and ad‑hoc financial reports.
• Maintain an organized archive of accounts receivable and payment records for quick reference and audit purposes.
• Generate aging reports and provide financial data to the commercial team to support timely collections.
• Perform regular account reconciliations and promptly resolve discrepancies.
• Support accounting projects and assist with ERP system enhancements or new module implementations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with a major in Accounting.
• Excellent spoken and written English and Arabic.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial functions).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial figures.
• Familiarity with ERP and accounting systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
• 0 to 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
