HSE Manager

About the role

ABB is looking for an experienced HSE Manager to lead a team of HSE experts in Egypt. You will drive the implementation of health, safety and environmental policies, support line managers and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Support line managers and supervisors in understanding HSE obligations, liabilities and requirements.
• Ensure appropriate tools and measures are in place, report HSE incidents and performance against Group objectives.
• Drive behavioral change and optimise HSE capabilities to align with standards and best practices.
• Contribute to the PAEN in Egypt and support multi‑site HSE oversight across the cluster.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of progressive HSE experience in industrial, EPC or field‑service environments, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental Science and a recognised HSE certification (NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH, ISO 45001/14001 Lead Auditor).
• Proven track record of building HSE management systems, reducing incidents and leading cultural change programmes.
• Experience in emerging African markets, especially Nigeria and Francophone Africa, is highly preferred.
• Fluent in English and Arabic; working knowledge of French is an advantage.

Required skills

• Lead Auditor – ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH certification.
• HSE auditing and incident investigation methodologies (root‑cause analysis).
• Behavior‑based safety programmes and HSE management systems.
• Knowledge of local HSE legislation and ability to adapt global standards to local contexts.
