Legal Counsel

About the role

AVEVA is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its EMEA legal team, based in Cairo, Egypt. The role focuses on reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts while providing timely legal advice to internal stakeholders across sales, procurement, operations, finance, and HR.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including software services, maintenance, consultancy, procurement, subcontractor, and strategic alliance agreements.
• Provide pragmatic legal advice to support AVEVA’s commercial deal pursuits in the Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia.
• Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and AVEVA’s internal policies.
• Build strong working relationships across the Legal department and business units.
• Support the legal team with general EMEA region legal issues and assist in assessing contractual risks.

Required profile

• Ability to balance legal risks with business objectives and close deals efficiently.
• Strong communication skills to advise internal stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel regionally as required for projects and negotiations.

Required skills

• Experience in commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
• Knowledge of relevant local and international laws and regulations.
• Familiarity with corporate legal policies and approval matrices.
