Procurement Engineer – Manufacturing (1‑3 yrs experience)

About the role

We are seeking a Procurement Engineer to manage the sourcing of materials, spare parts, equipment and technical items for our manufacturing operations in 10th of Ramadan City, Cairo. The role involves coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely and cost‑effective purchases while maintaining high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue RFQs to suppliers and evaluate quotations based on price, quality and delivery.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms and contract conditions with vendors.
• Generate purchase orders, obtain approvals and monitor order status to guarantee on‑time delivery.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Maintenance, Quality and Finance departments to verify technical specifications before purchasing.
• Identify and qualify new suppliers while nurturing relationships with existing ones.
• Assess supplier performance, quality and delivery reliability.
• Handle urgent procurement needs and resolve supply issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, quotations and supplier information.
• Ensure purchases comply with budget limits and company procedures.
• Support cost‑saving initiatives and supplier improvement projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, Commerce or Engineering.
• 1–3 years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of technical materials, spare parts and equipment.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and overall MS Office suite.
• Ability to analyse quotations, compare costs and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with ERP/SAP systems is an advantage.
• Good command of English is preferred.
