Procurement Officer

About the role

The Procurement Officer will ensure cost‑effective and timely acquisition of goods and services for the Sukari gold mine, supporting uninterrupted production. Working within the Supply department, the role converts purchase requisitions into orders, manages vendor relationships, and collaborates with logistics to achieve zero weekly overdue items.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily purchase requisitions, verify specifications with end‑users, avoid double‑ordering, and generate draft purchase orders within 2 days.
• Finalize purchase orders within 7 days of assignment.
• Identify, evaluate, and select regional and international suppliers; prepare commercial comparisons and negotiate price, quality, delivery, and payment terms.
• Enter high‑volume purchase data into the site ERP system, maintaining zero overdue items each week.
• Track urgent and delayed orders, update ETA metrics, and coordinate with logistics, customs, and transportation for critical deliveries.
• Arrange advance and progress payments, reconcile account queries, manage Non‑Conformance Reports, and handle supplier disputes.
• Maintain organized soft and hard‑copy archives of all purchasing documentation and produce weekly expediting reports.

Required profile

• Ability to monitor and process purchase requisitions daily.
• Strong attention to detail to verify specifications and prevent duplicate orders.
• Capability to maintain zero overdue items on a weekly basis.
• Experience coordinating with logistics, customs, and transportation teams.
