Professor / Associate Professor – Civil Law

About the role

The German University in Cairo (GUC) is recruiting senior academic staff to join its Law and Legal Studies program. The position is full‑time and will commence in September 2026, focusing on undergraduate teaching and curriculum development in civil law.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate courses covering Civil Law Theory, History of Legal and Social Systems in Egypt, International and Intellectual Property Rights, and Social Insurance Law.
• Design and update teaching materials, case studies, and seminar content.
• Collaborate with department colleagues on research projects and interdisciplinary initiatives.
• Participate in academic committees, student advising, and community outreach activities.
• Maintain an active profile in the legal and business community through consulting, publications, and professional memberships.

Required profile

• Doctorate degree in law with a strong record of teaching experience.
• Relevant publications and research activity in civil law or related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to develop engaging course material and foster student‑centered learning.
• Active involvement in the legal profession, such as association memberships or consultancy work.
