Regional Risk and Compliance Officer

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a Regional Risk and Compliance Officer to support its mission of humane and orderly migration across the Middle East and North Africa. Reporting to the Regional Director and guided by the Institutional Risk Division at headquarters, the officer will help embed risk management practices in regional and country operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice and support for the implementation of institutional risk policies in Country Offices.
• Oversee internal controls and ensure compliance with risk‑identification, assessment, treatment and monitoring processes.
• Deliver technical guidance to integrate risk management into programme planning and operational activities.
• Collaborate closely with Regional Office staff, Chiefs of Mission and Heads of Office to promote a risk‑aware culture.
• Prepare risk reports, dashboards and recommendations for senior management.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in risk management, compliance, law, international relations or a related field.
• Professional experience in risk assessment, internal audit or compliance within an international organization or similar environment.
• Strong analytical abilities and capacity to work across multiple countries and cultures.
• Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
