Remote Software Engineer (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a remote Software Engineer on a contract basis to contribute high‑quality code, debugging expertise, and development insights across multiple programming languages. You will work 10‑40 hours per week, collaborating with a distributed team to improve existing codebases and deliver new features.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert‑level code samples, debugging strategies, and development guidance in Python, Java, Rust, Go, C++, or TypeScript.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software defects and performance bottlenecks.
• Design and implement robust, scalable features while adhering to best‑practice standards.
• Refactor and optimize legacy code to enhance clarity, efficiency, and reliability.
• Document technical reasoning, solution approaches, and code decisions to support AI training data quality.
• Review and validate peer‑contributed code and technical submissions for accuracy and clarity.

Required profile

• Significant hands‑on experience in at least one of the listed programming languages.
• Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and core software engineering principles.
• Proven ability to debug complex systems, resolve bugs, and deliver effective optimizations.
• Experience modernizing large, legacy codebases.
• Track record of delivering high‑impact features from conception through delivery in cross‑functional projects.
