Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

The Senior Legal Counsel will lead all legal matters for Majid Al Futtaim Properties Egypt – Development. You will provide cost‑effective, strategic legal advice to support current and future development projects across Egypt.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive legal support to the VP, Legal – Development and internal stakeholders, aligning advice with business objectives.
• Develop and implement legal strategies, proactively identifying and mitigating legal and reputational risks.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts and maintain up‑to‑date legal templates.
• Manage relationships with external law firms, ensuring quality and alignment with internal strategies.
• Review and enhance internal policies, processes, and governance frameworks for compliance.
• Support dispute resolution and litigation matters with a focus on preventive lawyering.
• Monitor key legal developments in Egypt and ensure adherence to the company’s code of conduct.

Required profile

• Law degree with at least 10 years of progressive legal experience in Egypt’s real estate or development sector.
• Bilingual in Arabic and English; LLM or MBA is an advantage.
• Strong expertise in real estate and construction law, both Egyptian and international frameworks.
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects, meet tight deadlines, and deliver high‑quality work.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced problem‑solving, strategic thinking, risk assessment, and due‑diligence capabilities.
• High integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
