Senior Mechanical Technical Office Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Technical Office Engineer to lead the preparation, review and coordination of mechanical design documentation for large‑scale construction projects. You will act as the technical bridge between the design team, consultants and on‑site execution, ensuring that all mechanical solutions meet project specifications and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review and interpret mechanical design drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Prepare, review and approve shop, coordination and as‑built drawings.
• Coordinate with design, electrical, civil and architectural disciplines to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, local codes and standards.
• Review material submittals and technical datasheets for HVAC, plumbing and firefighting systems.
• Maintain technical submittal logs, RFIs and other documentation required for project approvals.
• Provide technical support to the site execution team, including clarifications and alternative proposals.
• Support procurement by preparing material take‑offs, technical comparisons and vendor evaluations.
• Assist in planning and scheduling of mechanical activities with the planning team.
• Identify cost‑effective design solutions and value‑engineering opportunities.
• Track progress, flag risks and suggest mitigation measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical office role within the contracting industry.
• Proven experience with MEP systems (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting).
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and project lifecycle.
• Excellent organizational, communication and analytical skills.
