Senior Software Application Engineer – Turbomachinery Controls

About the role

Schneider Electric is seeking a Senior Software Application Engineer specialized in Turbomachinery Controls to lead design and specification activities for regional projects and services. The role combines advanced control engineering, customer interaction, and field support to ensure high‑performance, reliable turbine and compressor systems.

Key responsibilities

• Provide design and specification leadership for Turbomachinery Control (TMC) projects, producing Functional Design Specifications and Basis of Design documents.
• Develop control strategies, select specialized devices, and conduct application QA testing.
• Interface directly with customers and internal teams to translate technical requirements into robust solutions.
• Deliver field support, training, startup, and commissioning for installed applications.
• Offer consulting services, FEED studies, site audits, and technical advice.
• Support sales and proposal activities with technical input and marketing assistance.
• Act as design authority for steam turbine speed/load control, extraction control, compressor anti‑surge, hydraulic actuator systems, generator excitation, and field instrumentation.
• Define test procedures and support Pre‑FAT, FAT, and Integrated‑FAT activities.
• Review project documentation for completeness, QA compliance, and alignment with budget and schedule.
• Manage in‑house teams, subcontractors, and remote project stakeholders.

Required profile

• Recognized expert in Turbomachinery Control with extensive experience in steam turbine, compressor, and hydraulic actuator systems.
• Strong knowledge of control logic design, configuration, and approval processes.
• Proven ability to interact with customers, lead technical teams, and manage subcontractors.
• Experience in FEED, site audits, and commissioning of complex control projects.
