Telecom & AFC Lead Engineer

About the role

The Telecom & AFC Lead Engineer provides technical leadership for telecommunication and Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems used in railway maintenance operations. The role ensures safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance across Line 3 and the LRT, while driving continuous improvement and high system availability.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce safety standards and company policies for all Telecom and AFC maintenance activities, conduct inspections and promote a safety‑first culture.
• Maintain and update maintenance procedures, manuals, checklists, and preventive maintenance plans, ensuring documentation reflects current system configurations.
• Assess resource needs (spare parts, tools, personnel) and provide advanced technical support to maintenance teams.
• Monitor KPIs such as reliability, availability and maintainability, identify recurring faults and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with vendors and OEMs on system upgrades, incorporate field lessons learned, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly performance reports, lead root‑cause analyses of incidents, and document preventive actions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in telecom and AFC system maintenance within a railway or similar transport environment.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations, audit processes and documentation control.
• Ability to manage resources, lead technical troubleshooting and drive performance improvements.
• Excellent analytical skills for incident investigation and data‑driven decision making.
• Effective communication and collaboration with internal teams, subcontractors and external vendors.
