Track Engineer

About the role

The Track Engineer ensures the safety, functionality and reliability of railway track infrastructure. The role leads maintenance activities, coordinates operational logistics and manages technical teams to support continuous service and long‑term performance of metro assets.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise corrective and preventive maintenance across tracks, workshops and sites.
• Plan, execute and adjust daily work tasks for technicians and operators.
• Analyse and report track condition and service performance.
• Lead emergency interventions and resolve problems under time constraints.
• Conduct inspections with measuring vehicles and interpret data to detect infrastructure issues.
• Coordinate night and day shifts to ensure continuous operations.
• Utilise Maximo/CMMS to plan, track, report and close work orders, maintaining accurate asset records.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, conduct toolbox talks and safety audits.
• Communicate with internal departments and external stakeholders, aligning maintenance with strategic objectives.
• Report to the Head of Track on team performance and improvement areas.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of metro track systems, infrastructure maintenance and distressing processes.
• Understanding of railway operational constraints and worksite logistics.
• Proficiency in CMMS (e.g., Maximo) and Microsoft Office tools.
