UNHCR Case Worker – Aswan, Egypt

About the role

The UNHCR Case Worker will provide protection and case‑management services for Sudanese children in Aswan, conducting Best Interest Assessments, facilitating psychosocial sessions and supporting community‑based protection mechanisms.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct best interest assessment interviews and draft relevant reports for children as needed.
• Monitor and follow‑up individual cases of unaccompanied minors and children at risk in Aswan.
• Implement case management in line with Save the Children policies, donor requirements and safeguarding standards.
• Facilitate orientation sessions, workshops, psychosocial support and awareness activities for children.

Required profile

• University degree in Psychology, Sociology, Development, Political Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 1–2 years experience in humanitarian or development work with a focus on child protection.
• Proficiency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).

Required skills

• Excellent drafting, interviewing and communication abilities.
• Ability to work effectively with highly vulnerable groups and in field settings.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills, able to work under pressure.
