Data Protection and Privacy Officer

About the role

The Data Protection and Privacy Officer will lead the bank’s privacy program, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and fostering a culture of privacy awareness across the organization. This senior role reports directly to senior management and serves as the primary liaison with data protection authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain a comprehensive privacy program, including policies, standards, and procedures.
• Advise senior management on data protection obligations and monitor ongoing compliance.
• Conduct regular privacy audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews.
• Raise awareness, deliver training, and promote best privacy practices for all staff.
• Manage breach response procedures, data access requests, and complaints from the public.
• Coordinate with the Cyber Security Head and CISO to align security and privacy initiatives.
• Maintain records of risk assessments, audit findings, and remediation actions.
• Oversee the development and delivery of initial and ongoing privacy training programs.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Engineering or Computer Science.
• Fluency in English and Arabic, both spoken and written.
• Minimum 13 years of professional experience in data protection, privacy compliance, or related fields.
