Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The Maintenance Engineer will lead the workshop team in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of vehicles. Working closely with the Maintenance Manager, you will ensure high‑quality repairs, optimal spare‑part management, and compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive vehicles and collaborate with technicians to diagnose faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
• Identify malfunctions, explain root causes, and coordinate repair methods with the Maintenance Manager.
• Assign repair tasks to technicians based on specialization and prioritize work according to trip schedules, urgency, and customer service needs.
• Inspect and verify the quality of oils, lubricants, petroleum products, and spare parts for various vehicle models.
• Monitor spare‑part inventory, ensure specifications are met, and maintain adequate stock throughout the shift.
• Track production and expiry dates of petroleum materials stored in the warehouse.
• Oversee correct disassembly, assembly, and repair procedures to meet quality standards.
• Review vehicles before release to confirm all faults are resolved.
• Analyze breakdown causes, distinguishing misuse from normal wear.
• Train workshop technicians on tasks, movement procedures, and emergency handling.
• Maintain effective communication with the workshop team and coordinate with other departments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automotive specialization.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a workshop or vehicle maintenance environment.
• Ability to prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Fluency in Arabic and good command of English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with vehicle diagnostic equipment and tools.
• Strong knowledge of oils, lubricants, petroleum materials, and spare‑part specifications.
• Microsoft Office applications.
