Pharmacist – Medication Dispensing & Patient Consultation

About the role

The pharmacist is responsible for providing prescribed medications, preparing compounded formulations, and offering professional advice to patients, families, and healthcare staff. The role ensures safe and accurate medication dispensing in both outpatient and inpatient settings while maintaining confidentiality.

Key responsibilities

• Review patients' drug regimens and verify physician orders for appropriateness before dispensing.
• Communicate suggested medication changes to prescribing physicians.
• Prepare, check, and dispense outpatient prescriptions issued by physicians.
• Prepare, package, dispense, and deliver unit‑dose medication for hospitalized patients according to standard procedures.
• Compound drug formulations, strengths, dosage forms, and packages not commercially available, subject to Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee approval.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
• Perform any other duties within the scope of pharmacy practice as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
• Knowledge of professional pharmacy standards and practices.
• Ability to review and verify medication orders accurately.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with physicians and healthcare teams.
• Commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.
