Process Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Process Design Engineer to join TAQA Water’s Cairo team, focusing on reverse‑osmosis (RO) desalination projects. The role is full‑time and on‑site, supporting the design, delivery and operation of water treatment plants.

Key responsibilities

• Perform process design and equipment selection for RO desalination projects.
• Carry out detailed hydraulic, mechanical and chemical calculations for process packages.
• Prepare layouts, Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
• Develop control philosophy for the operation of RO water desalination plants.
• Assemble full project deliverables, including Bills of Materials (BOM) for procurement.
• Monitor internal back‑office operations to ensure successful plant performance.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, civil, automation and architecture disciplines to deliver complete engineering packages.
• Analyse process problems and implement corrective design modifications.
• Follow up on repair services for defective equipment.
• Prepare technical and financial proposals during tender phases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in water treatment process design (0‑2 years).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Fluency in English.
