Quality Control Engineer – Ready‑Mix Concrete

About the role

The Quality Control Engineer will lead QC KPI monitoring, specification analysis and the implementation of quality plans for a large‑scale ready‑mix concrete plant. The role also manages the mix‑design platform, automation activities and drives continuous improvement projects to enhance performance and reduce the cost of poor quality.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and maintain safe working practices.
• Review project specifications and guarantee technical and quality compliance.
• Support the Commercial Team with technical proposals, mix designs and pricing data.
• Lead automation initiatives and manage the FireQ mix‑design platform.
• Maintain quality records, analyse QC KPIs and implement continuous improvement actions.
• Drive cost‑optimization projects for concrete mixes in line with budget targets.
• Oversee the implementation of Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) and standardise QC procedures across the plant.
• Supervise and develop the Quality Control team.
• Develop and execute calibration plans for plant machinery and laboratory equipment.
• Ensure truck‑mixer uniformity and compliance with NRMCA standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading quality control activities in a ready‑mix concrete or cement environment.
• Strong understanding of mix‑design principles, specifications and automation tools.
• Ability to manage quality improvement projects and track KPI performance.
• Excellent knowledge of health & safety regulations and inspection procedures.
• Leadership skills to guide a QC team and coordinate cross‑functional activities.
