Accountant – Relocation to Erbil, Iraq

About the role

The Accountant will join a fast‑growing organization in Erbil, Iraq, handling the full spectrum of financial record‑keeping, reporting, and compliance. This full‑time onsite position offers relocation support and a dynamic environment where you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Maintain the general ledger, perform regular account reconciliations and support month‑end and year‑end closing cycles.
• Reconcile bank statements, resolve discrepancies and monitor cash movements.
• Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and assist with tax filings.
• Track budget versus actual performance and provide variance analysis.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and implement best practices.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather and validate financial data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting or a similar role.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Fluent in English and Arabic, both written and verbal.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
