Data Engineer – Enterprise Data Lake & Azure

About the role

We are looking for a Data Engineer to design, build and maintain batch data pipelines that support our core banking, retail and digital operations across several regions. The role sits within the Enterprise Data Lake function and works on both on‑premise and cloud environments, primarily Azure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise batch and real‑time data pipelines for core banking, retail, marketing, risk and compliance data.
• Implement and manage Azure Data Lake and Enterprise Data Lake solutions, ensuring data quality and governance.
• Collaborate with BI, advanced analytics and streaming teams to deliver data products for strategic decision‑making and regulatory reporting.
• Coordinate change releases, resource planning and documentation for data platform enhancements.
• Provide data insights that improve operational efficiency and support compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Strong experience in data engineering within banking or financial services.
• Proven ability to work with large‑scale data platforms across multiple regions.
• Hands‑on experience with both on‑premise and cloud data solutions.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to translate business needs into technical designs.
