Data Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Data Engineer to own end‑to‑end data pipelines for a client building AI‑driven systems. You will design, implement and maintain reliable ingestion, enrichment and transformation workflows that power analytics and LLM‑based features.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines (batch or near‑real‑time).
• Integrate third‑party APIs, automate data enrichment and schedule workflows.
• Apply ETL/ELT best practices with validation, monitoring and documentation.
• Contribute to data modelling, schema design and dimensional modelling for downstream analytics.
• Optimise query performance, pipeline efficiency and runtime reliability.
• Implement data quality checks, alerting and observability to avoid silent failures.
• Collaborate with analysts and engineers to translate business needs into shippable data products.
• Support AI/LLM readiness by preparing datasets for embeddings, vector search and retrieval layers.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering production‑grade data workflows using SQL and Python.
• Hands‑on experience building data pipelines across multiple sources.
• Solid understanding of data modelling fundamentals (normalisation, dimensional modelling).
• Experience with cloud data storage and compute platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently under pressure.
