English Language Teacher – British Council

About the role

The British Council is seeking an enthusiastic English Language Teacher to deliver high‑quality language instruction across several centres in Egypt. You will create engaging lessons that inspire learners, support their autonomy and align with the Council’s global teaching standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver effective English lessons tailored to diverse learner needs.
• Track learner progress, provide constructive feedback and use assessment data to inform instruction.
• Contribute to course development, centre activities, staff collaboration and local marketing initiatives.
• Promote intercultural understanding and UK values through classroom and extracurricular activities.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, data protection, SEN and health‑and‑safety policies.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent.
• Cambridge CELTA and/or Trinity Certificate TESOL (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years post‑certificate teaching experience (approximately 1,200 hours).
• Demonstrated subject knowledge and ability to create an inclusive learning environment.

Required skills

• Lesson planning and delivery.
• Use of assessment and feedback tools.
• Management of teaching and learning resources.
