Faculty Position in Electronics – CPS, Embedded Systems & IoT

About the role

The Faculty of Information Engineering and Technology at the German University in Cairo is looking for a highly qualified academic to join the Electronics Engineering department. The appointment can be at Lecturer, Associate Professor or Full Professor level and will focus on Cyber‑Physical Systems (CPS), hardware/software co‑design of distributed embedded systems and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Key responsibilities

• Lead a research group dedicated to CPS and IoT.
• Develop and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses covering computer organization, control theory, micro‑controllers, real‑time systems, Embedded C, CPS and IoT.
• Supervise bachelor, master and PhD students.
• Establish research collaborations with industry and international academic partners.
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental advancement.
• Secure research funding through grants and industry partnerships.
• Participate in university service and administrative duties.

Required profile

• PhD in Electronics or Electrical Engineering with a focus on CPS, Embedded Systems and IoT.
• Strong research record with publications in top‑tier journals and conferences.
• Industrial experience in hardware/software co‑design of CPS and IoT solutions.
• Teaching experience at the university level is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to solve cross‑functional problems in a team environment.
