Head of Internal Control & Resilience – Group Operations

About the role

The Head of Internal Control & Resilience for Group Operations leads the design, execution and continuous improvement of the internal control, governance, risk and assurance framework across the bank’s operational units. Acting as a 1.5 Line of Defense, the role bridges first‑line business functions with risk, compliance, finance and audit teams to ensure robust, scalable controls.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Operations Group Risk Management Forum (OGRM) and drive data‑driven risk discussions and escalations.
• Oversee control transformation initiatives, including Identity & Access Management (IAM) and Role‑Based Access Control (RBAC) integration.
• Govern operational risk events, ensuring high‑quality root‑cause analysis, clear ownership and timely closure.
• Provide oversight of the Enterprise Reconciliation Framework (ERF) and direct the Quality Assurance & Proofing Unit.
• Represent Operations in enterprise resilience and risk forums, aligning risk insights with business continuity and incident management.
• Monitor GRC reviews, thematic control assessments and audit action tracking across financial and non‑financial processes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in internal control, risk management or governance within a large financial institution.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on systemic risk mitigation and control effectiveness.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex risk concepts into actionable business guidance.
