Rolling Stock & Depot Equipment Unit Manager – Monorail

About the role

Alstom is seeking a full‑time Rolling Stock & Depot Equipment Unit Manager for its WON Monorail project in Cairo. The role combines technical ownership of monorail rolling stock, onboard systems and depot equipment with operational leadership to ensure high availability, reliability and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical and operational owner of monorail rolling stock, train onboard systems and depot equipment.
• Develop and implement fleet management strategies to maximise availability and performance.
• Plan, optimise and supervise preventive, corrective and overhaul maintenance programmes.
• Establish failure reporting, lead root‑cause analysis and drive continuous improvement.
• Apply asset‑management practices to control lifecycle costs.
• Lead a team of engineers, providing training, development and performance monitoring.
• Manage spare parts, tools and consumables to support maintenance activities.
• Coordinate depot workflows to ensure efficient rolling‑stock turnaround.
• Monitor KPIs such as fleet availability, MTBF and MTTR and report results.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Railway Engineering.
• 8–12 years of experience in railway, metro or monorail systems.
• Proven background in rolling‑stock maintenance, fleet management and depot operations.
• Strong knowledge of asset and maintenance management principles.
• Leadership experience with a focus on team development.
