Room Dining Order Taker

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Order Taker to join the in‑room dining team at Portaluna, the first Morgans Originals hotel in Egypt. The role involves handling guest phone orders for food and beverages, ensuring a friendly and professional experience from start to finish.

Key responsibilities

• Answer incoming guest calls, take accurate food and beverage orders, and confirm preferences, dietary restrictions, and special requests.
• Provide menu information, daily specials, and pairing suggestions.
• Enter orders promptly into the hotel’s POS system and coordinate with kitchen, bar, and housekeeping for timely preparation and delivery.
• Monitor delivery times, communicate any delays, and ensure orders are delivered according to guest specifications.
• Prepare itemised bills, process payments (cash, credit card, etc.), and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and keep menus and promotional materials up‑to‑date.
• Assist with inventory monitoring for in‑room dining supplies and alert management when restocking is required.
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a hotel, restaurant or food‑service environment is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong verbal communication skills and a courteous phone manner.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage multiple orders simultaneously.
• Attention to detail regarding guest preferences, allergies and special instructions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a Point‑of‑Sale (POS) system.
