Senior Specialist – Payment Gateway Integration

About the role

The Senior Specialist – Payment Gateway Integration will design, build and maintain integration solutions that connect internal systems with external payment, banking and identity services. You will ensure seamless data exchange, high reliability and security across a complex multi‑platform environment.

Key responsibilities

• Connect diverse applications, APIs, databases and third‑party services to enable smooth communication and data flow.
• Design integration architecture, including APIs, middleware and message queues, to support business requirements.
• Optimize integrations for scalability, reliability and security while protecting data integrity.
• Integrate external payment gateways, banking systems and identity services to expand platform capabilities.
• Manage API authentication methods such as OAuth, API keys and JWT.
• Ensure data consistency across all platforms and link merchant systems with payment processors.
• Administer the full payment lifecycle – authorization, capture, settlement and refunds.
• Troubleshoot integration bottlenecks and connectivity issues to minimise downtime.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 4‑6 years of integration or API development experience, with 1‑2 years in a leadership role.
• Result‑oriented, operationally aware and customer‑centric mindset.
• Experience coaching, mentoring and building technical networks.

Required skills

• Develop and consume REST and SOAP APIs.
• Data mapping and transformation (JSON, XML, CSV).
• API authentication: OAuth, API keys, JWT.
• Design of middleware and message‑queue architectures.
• Payment gateway and banking system integration.
• Strong troubleshooting of technical integration issues.
