SysOps/SRE Lead – Global R&D Infrastructure

About the role

The SysOps/SRE Lead will own the reliability, scalability and operational health of our worldwide R&D infrastructure. You will bridge development and operations, define engineering practices and ensure the global toolchain remains resilient under pressure.

Key responsibilities

• Define and manage on‑call schedules, ensuring sustainable global coverage.
• Serve as primary escalation point for critical production incidents and lead blameless post‑mortems.
• Implement daily health monitoring, error budgets and proactive detection of systemic weaknesses.
• Maintain high‑quality documentation, runbooks and best‑practice guides.
• Translate business requirements into technical road‑maps and drive Program Increment infrastructure activities.
• Balance SRE workload so at least 50 % of capacity is dedicated to engineering improvements.
• Define and enforce standards for cloud security, patching and infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC).
• Design secure, multi‑region AWS environments with a focus on high availability and cost optimisation.
• Standardise the observability stack (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) to move from basic alerts to proactive monitoring.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers, fostering automation and continuous improvement.
• Define and report KPIs to assess platform health and end‑to‑end service levels.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading SRE or SysOps teams in a global environment.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
