Telecom Technician – Cairo Metro Line 3

About the role

The Telecom Technician will maintain and ensure optimal operation of all telecommunications systems across Cairo Metro Line 3, including stations, tunnels and depots. The role covers radio, intercom, CCTV, fire detection, public address, clocks, passenger information displays, voice recording and network cabling.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on telecom equipment such as CCTV, PIS, intercom, fire detection and clock systems.
• Respond to faults and carry out emergency repairs to minimise service interruptions.
• Install, test and commission new telecom devices and verify proper functionality.
• Conduct safety checks, diagnostic tests and calibrations using specialised test equipment.
• Assist supervisors with daily activities, supervise subcontractors and ensure accurate documentation of maintenance work.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts, order supplies and keep tools and testing equipment in good condition.
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental regulations and report any incidents.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in electronics or telecommunications preferred.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience maintaining telecom or electronic systems, preferably in a railway or similar infrastructure environment.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, install and maintain a range of telecom systems.
• Ability to read technical diagrams, layouts and blueprints.
