Assistant Restaurant Manager – Luxury Hotel

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Restaurant Manager to support the daily operations of our luxury restaurant at Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile. The role involves supervising the hourly team, ensuring service excellence, and maintaining high standards of food safety and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise hourly team members during assigned shifts, directing workflow and ensuring station coverage.
• Open and close the restaurant following documented checklists for equipment, cash, security, and facility readiness.
• Handle guest complaints and service recovery, applying approved compensation procedures.
• Monitor labor efficiency in real time and adjust staffing to meet sales targets.
• Conduct pre‑shift briefings to communicate promotions, staff assignments, and operational priorities.
• Enforce food safety standards, including temperature checks, date labeling, allergen handling, and sanitation routines.
• Train new hourly employees on POS operation, service steps, and company standards.
• Perform cash handling procedures, till counts, safe drops, and shift summary reports.
• Carry out line checks and food quality audits before service periods.
• Assist senior management with inventory tracking and ordering of food, beverage, and supplies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business or a related field (preferred).
• 2–4 years of restaurant experience in a luxury environment.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Experience with Opera or a related POS system is an asset.
