Buyer – Direct Procurement (FMCG)

About the role

The Buyer – Direct Procurement will manage the end‑to‑end sourcing of raw materials, packaging and production inputs for an FMCG manufacturing operation. Working closely with the Procurement Manager, you will ensure timely supply while optimising cost, quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions, generate purchase orders and monitor delivery against SLA timelines.
• Obtain, validate and compare supplier quotations, negotiate terms and follow up on orders.
• Maintain day‑to‑day communication with suppliers, resolve delivery, quality and invoicing issues, and keep the approved supplier list up to date.
• Ensure all activities comply with company procurement policy, delegation of authority and SOPs; maintain audit‑ready documentation.
• Prepare regular reports on PO/PR compliance, spend analysis, KPI tracking and purchase price variance.
• Coordinate settlement with Finance and support the Procurement Manager with data compilation for management reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering or related field.
• 4–5 years of direct procurement experience in FMCG, food manufacturing or a similar industry.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
• Strong understanding of raw‑material and packaging sourcing, vendor management and procurement best practices.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
