Chief Accountant / Tax Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Chief Accountant / Tax Manager to lead our accounting function, prepare accurate financial statements, and ensure full compliance with Egyptian tax regulations. The role involves strategic oversight of the accounting team and close interaction with tax authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the company's full accounting operations and prepare financial statements.
• Manage all tax files, including VAT, income tax, withholding tax, and other applicable taxes.
• Liaise directly with the Egyptian Tax Authority, attend committees and tax audits.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns and ensure timely legal submission.
• Monitor updates and amendments to Egyptian tax laws and ensure company compliance.
• Manage and supervise the accounting team.
• Coordinate with external auditors and audit firms.
• Provide periodic reports to senior management on the company's financial and tax position.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce – Accounting major (or equivalent).
• 5–10 years of accounting experience with substantial specialization in Egyptian taxation.
• Prior managerial or supervisory experience at department‑manager level.
• Strong command of current Egyptian tax laws and the e‑invoicing system.
• CMA certification or a Tax Diploma is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in SAP / Oracle (or similar) accounting software.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel.
