Claims Handler – Marine P&I Claims

About the role

Kalimbassieris Maritime is looking for an experienced Claims Handler to join its Alexandria office. The role involves managing P&I marine liability claims from notification through to resolution, working closely with surveyors, lawyers, insurers and shipowners.

Key responsibilities

• Handle day‑to‑day P&I claims from first notification to closure.
• Liaise with local and international clients (insurers, shipowners, brokers) and provide professional, prompt advice.
• Coordinate with in‑house claim handlers, surveyors and external lawyers to progress claim resolution.
• Support communication and coordination with the Group’s head office in Greece on legal, claim and administration issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law and/or Maritime Business Studies.
• 2–4 years of experience in marine claims handling or related fields such as shipping operations, logistics or general insurance.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills; additional languages are a plus.
• Ability to analyse complex information, prioritize multiple tasks under pressure and pay attention to detail.
