Internal Audit Manager – FMCG & Retail

About the role

The Internal Audit Manager will lead the planning, execution, and reporting of risk‑based internal audits across FMCG manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, and retail operations. This role provides independent assurance on governance, risk management, internal controls, financial reporting, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an annual risk‑based internal audit plan, updating it as business priorities and emerging risks evolve.
• Conduct enterprise‑wide risk assessments to identify operational, financial, compliance, and strategic risks.
• Lead operational audits covering manufacturing, retail stores, warehousing, distribution centers, procurement, supply chain, sales, and customer service functions.
• Review financial controls over revenue recognition, cash management, accounts, general ledger, fixed assets, inventory valuation, budgeting, and financial close processes, ensuring IFRS and internal policy compliance.
• Audit inventory and warehouse processes, including stock accuracy, reconciliations, aging, shrinkage, and security procedures.
• Evaluate retail operations controls such as POS transactions, cash handling, promotions, refunds, loyalty programs, pricing, and physical security.
• Assess procurement and supply‑chain controls, including vendor selection, tendering, purchase orders, contracts, payments, and logistics compliance.
• Present audit plans, findings, and risk assessments to senior management and the Audit Committee.
