Lifting Engineer – Inspection & Operation Supervision

About the role

SGS is seeking a qualified Lifting Engineer to plan, supervise and inspect lifting operations at construction sites in Cairo. The role ensures safety, compliance and efficiency of all lifting activities while providing training and documentation support.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and supervise lifting operations to guarantee safety and efficiency.
• Coordinate with rigging teams and operators to execute lifting activities safely.
• Inspect all lifting equipment and accessories on site.
• Perform periodic control and weekly checks of lifting equipment and tools.
• Maintain document control for all lifting operations.
• Issue lifting certificates for inspected items.
• Conduct toolbox talks and training on safe lifting practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mandatory).
• 2‑4 years of experience in lifting inspection on construction sites.
• At least two LEEA certificates (e.g., Foundation, LAC or other relevant diplomas).
• NDT Level II certification in Magnetic Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT) and Visual Testing (VT).
• APLO or equivalent certification.
• Proficiency in computer skills.
