Livelihoods Officer

About the role

We are seeking a Livelihoods Officer to lead the implementation of livelihood‑focused projects, ensuring that activities are delivered on time, within budget and to high quality standards. The role will support partnership management, develop funding proposals and supervise project coordination to maximise impact.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and follow up on project activities against approved work plans and budgets.
• Prepare and regularly update operational plans and activity matrices.
• Coordinate trainers and the Monitoring & Evaluation team to ensure smooth implementation.
• Track deliverables and contractual commitments for all donors and funding partners.
• Assist the Program Manager in drafting funding proposals.
• Prepare partnership documentation and follow up on commitments with universities, factories and implementing partners.
• Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships and ensure compliance with partnership agreements.
• Provide day‑to‑day guidance and supervision to the Project Coordinator, monitoring work quality and task completion.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Commerce, Business Administration, Development Studies or a related field.
• 2–3 years of professional experience in project management, livelihoods or development programmes.
• Strong organisational, communication and coordination abilities.
• Experience in proposal writing and partnership management is an asset.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, impact‑driven environment.
