Maintenance Operative – Hotel Engineering

About the role

The Maintenance Operative supports the Chief Electrician and the Engineering Department to ensure the hotel’s facilities remain in excellent condition. You will work across guest rooms and public areas, responding quickly to issues and helping deliver a seamless guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day general maintenance duties in guest rooms and public areas.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency calls.
• Conduct regular inspection tours to verify that all equipment is operating correctly.
• Collaborate with the Engineering Team on projects and scheduled work.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in proper condition.
• Follow all Health and Safety rules within the department and the hotel.
• Provide courteous service when interacting with guests.
• Carry out any additional tasks assigned by the Chief Engineer.

Required profile

• Previous maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel or similar environment such as ships, hospitals or retail.
• A certificate in Engineering is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Capability to work independently and meet established timeframes.
• Strong work ethic and a passion for handling varied projects throughout the day.
