MCC Engineer – Railway Monitoring & Maintenance

About the role

The MCC Engineer ensures the continuous safety and operational reliability of railway systems by monitoring maintenance activities, managing technical defects, and coordinating rapid responses to incidents. Acting as a bridge between Operations, Maintenance, and Customer Service, the engineer supports uninterrupted transit services.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor real‑time system alarms and failures across mainline, stations and depots; log and track issues in the Maintenance Management System (MMS).
• Coordinate immediate technical responses to faults or critical incidents, support safe system recovery, and provide updates for root‑cause analysis.
• Oversee preventive maintenance schedules, track status in MMS and follow up on overdue tasks.
• Maintain clear communication with station personnel and maintenance teams regarding equipment status and safety concerns.
• Prepare daily and periodic reports on maintenance performance, system availability and asset health; participate in audits and safety assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering.
• Fluent in Arabic and English; French is a plus.
• 3‑5 years of experience in technical or engineering roles, preferably in rail, metro or transportation environments.
• Ability to work under pressure, communicate effectively with technical and managerial audiences, and collaborate as a reliable team player.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience using Maintenance Management Systems, preferably MMS/Maximo.
• Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical railway systems.
