Medical Approval Doctor

About the role

The Medical Approval Doctor joins AXON HealthTech’s Approvals department to evaluate medical treatment requests and ensure they meet clinical and insurance policy criteria. Working on rotational shifts, the role supports both inpatient and outpatient pre‑authorizations across a digital healthcare platform.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and approve or reject pre‑authorization requests based on medical necessity and policy coverage.
• Review inpatient and outpatient treatment requests in collaboration with hospitals and healthcare providers.
• Communicate with physicians, hospitals, and insured members to clarify clinical cases and ensure appropriate care.
• Ensure decisions comply with company policies, local health regulations, and international medical guidelines.
• Provide medical expertise to the claims department for complex claim adjudication.
• Stay updated on new medical treatments, protocols, and policy changes.
• Contribute to the development and revision of internal medical protocols and guidelines.
• Maintain detailed documentation of medical decisions and approvals.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (BPharm), MBBCh, or a related medical field.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, insurance policies, and healthcare regulations.
• Excellent clinical judgment and decision‑making abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using medical and insurance software systems.
