Network & Security Engineer – Firewall & VPN Specialist

About the role

The Network & Security Engineer will design, implement, and maintain firewall and VPN solutions for our Maadi office. You will work closely with IT and security teams to ensure a robust, compliant, and high‑performance network environment.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, manage, and monitor firewall platforms such as Fortinet, Palo Alto Networks, Cisco ASA/Firepower, Sophos, and Check Point.
• Implement firewall security policies, NAT rules, VPN configurations, and ACLs.
• Monitor network traffic, security logs, and alerts to detect and mitigate threats.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, firewall, VPN, and other security issues.
• Support switches, routers, wireless controllers, and related network infrastructure.
• Conduct regular firewall rule reviews, policy optimization, and security assessments.
• Maintain accurate documentation of firewall, network, and security configurations.
• Assist with vulnerability assessments, remediation, and compliance activities.
• Generate reports on firewall activity, incidents, performance, and security events.
• Participate in incident response and security investigations as needed.

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant field.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and network troubleshooting.
• Good knowledge of VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL).
• Familiarity with network security concepts such as segmentation, access control, intrusion prevention, and security monitoring.
• Excellent written and spoken English; good command of Arabic.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Fortinet NSE, Cisco CCNA, Palo Alto PCNSA, Check Point CCSA, CompTIA Security+) are a strong plus.
